James Martin is General Manager of Europe, Middle East and Africa within Nasdaq, (NASDAQ: NDAQ), one of the world’s leading provider of trading, clearing, exchange technology, listing, information and public company services.
As General Manager Mr. Martin is responsible for bringing the full capability of Nasdaq’s offering to the region. Mr. Martin has been working in the region for over 20 years, previously working in Sales, Business Development and Advisory Services.
Working in the region with Regulators, Exchanges, Clearing Houses, Central Depositories, Ministeries, as well as Banks & Brokers; work focuses on:
– Capital market development for existing and start-up entities
– Product Development, including surveillance, indices and market data
– Technology across surveillance, trading, clearing and depositories
– Advisory services, providing strategy development and knowledge transfer
Mr. Martin currently sits on the board of a Nasdaq JV in the region and on the International Advisory Board of a further exchange.
Before working at Nasdaq, Mr. Martin worked in the finance sector in London and the United States, with focus on asset management, securities lending and custody banking.
