Armenuhi Mkrtchyan


Armenuhi Mkrtchyan is the Head of Consumer Protection and Financial Education Center in the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA). She has 25 years of experience in public policy as a financial regulator. Last 15 years, she has led financial consumer protection and financial education policy in CBA and has deep expertise in financial consumer protection, financial education, and financial inclusion. She has been a board member at the Financial Mediator Office of Armenia since 2009. Prior to consumer protection, 10 years of experience in designing and implementing reforms in different sectors of the financial system with CBA  – banking, microfinance, and insurance.

 Armenuhi is also active on international fora, including leading positions in international organizations such as Alliance for Financial Inclusion, OECD-International Network of Financial Education, and Eurasian Economic Union. Often invited as speaker on international events. Armenuhi, in collaboration with international organizations, actively assists other supervisory authorities in setting up and developing consumer protection and financial education policies including tailored capacity building, diagnostics and assistance in designing strategies, policy tools, and regulations in respective areas. Armenuhi holds MLitt International Business from the University of St Andrews, the UK.
